Battery Storage and Flexibility Training - Energy Delta Institute - Groningen - Netherlands - 10/12/2019
Two hours training on regulatory requirements to support battery storage investments and business models for virtual power plants held with a group of professionals from the energy sector, regulators and consultants. I explained key regulatory measures for fostering battery storage at utility and residential level, its role to meet increasing needs for flexibility in the power sector, as well as multiple business models for owners of virtual power plants to optimize their asset.

Presenting and explaining new business models for natural gas transmission system operators and the regulatory implications. New services, partners, market trends for new business models implemented by transmission system operators in the natural gas sector were evaluated and discussed at length. In addition, new ways of handling capacity via implicit allocation methodologies were assessed in their advantages and disadvantages. I also presented the regulatory issues and implications around both of these topics, with a special focus on those affecting new business models for natural gas system operators.
Multi-Sector Strategies for Sustainability - Freiburg - Germany - End Oct 2019 - Early Nov 2019
Delivered a three weeks course for the undergraduate students from IES around multiple strategies that companies can put in place to achieve sustainability, starting with leadership and culture within the organisation. I further guided students in the development of an action plan to solve a sustainability problem of their choosing acting as a group where students learned to work as a group, discuss different views on how to tackle the problem, and how to set actions to solve the problem.
Regulatory Measures to Increase Power to Gas Competitiveness via Tariff and Taxes - Focus on Hydrogen - Florence School of Regulation - Florence - 12/7/2019
Delivered a one hour class as part of a three day course on how tariff and tax regulatory measures can support the development of power to gas activities in Europe. I presented on measures for both gas and electricity gas and power transmission tariffs and taxes, as well as the role of taxes on hydrogen as a transportation fuel. Additional measures to support power to gas on the demand or supply side were also presented
Sustainable Energy - Freiburg - Germany - End of June 2019 - Beginning of July 2019
Delivered a three weeks course for IES undergraduate students focusing on sustainable energy, the policies to support their development, as well as the economics of climate change, the large scale development of renewable energy projects as well as energy efficiency policies and trends, biomass and biofuels. I guided students in the choice and development of a business case for a project of their choosing. Students had to define the value proposition, stakeholders, timeline, marketing, costs and financing as well as other aspects needed to develop a full business case. A field trip to a local wind farm to study the business model of community farms complemented the course and learning experience
